“Breakout areas have become an increasingly popular component of modern workplace design. A well designed and well equipped breakout zone can be utilised in a number of ways often acting as the hub of the office, encouraging staff interaction, increasing morale, stimulating internal communication and offering a space for both psychological and physical restoration.

But whilst the potential of this space can be vast, lack of consideration for certain design aspects such as location, noise, furniture, function and the integration of the space with company culture, can all affect the success of the zone.”
